Biography

With over a decade of experience as a dedicated music educator, Cole Quizon is a distinguished figure in the Southern California music education community. Holding an instrumental music education degree from CSU Fullerton, Cole has cultivated a profound passion for music since an early age. Currently, he is an instrumental music director at Northwood High School. He has been honored to conduct at prestigious venues such as the Segerstrom Concert Hall and collaborate with esteemed ensembles, including the Pacific Symphony and Symphony Irvine. Cole's entrepreneurial career shows through his creation of a youth saxophone choir in collaboration with the Pacific Symphony, providing saxophonists with a unique platform to showcase their talents. This saxophone choir has earned the privilege of performing three times at the Segerstrom Concert Hall, further solidifying Cole's reputation as an innovative music educator. Additionally, Cole's dedication to conducting is evident through his studies with prominent figures such as Dr. Travis Cross, Michael Haithcock, Dr. Dustin Barr, and Dr. Gregory X Whitmore, further enhancing his skills and insight into the art of conducting. He plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of music education in Southern California, actively participating in both the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association (SCSBOA) and the California Music Educators Association (CMEA), where he contributes to the development of young musicians across the region. He has presented at the 2026 SCSBOA conference on community building from the podium and continues to innovate and inspire the community through these conference presentations. Cole has been employed by Pacific Symphony as a Saxophone Coach, Irvine Unified School District as a Substitute Teacher, SCSBOA as New Teacher Representative, and Orange Unified School District as a Coach. His appointments are proof of his commitment to music education in Southern California whether it is through public, private, or non-profit institutions. Cole's innovative energy shines bright through his promising career as a music educator.
